A Place for Packaging Innovators

When the task of shooting the “Who We Are” video was first given to me I had to step back and really take an un-biased look at what Portco Packaging truly represents. What do they do? What makes them special? How are they different (and better) than the competition? Well, with Portco this task was pretty easy as they do indeed stand out on many different levels. From their rich history going back to the late 1930’s, to the constant innovation and “stick-to-it-ness” on maintaining the highest of possible quality and safety, it became very clear while shooting this video just exactly why Portco is by far and away the top choice for flexible packaging by some of the world’s most consumer-first, safety-driven brands. After all, any link in the supply chain is critical…and packaging is in no way an exception. After all, packaging is the “shroud” in which the final product is delivered to end-consumers. Product integrity, food safety, look, feel and function all come importantly into play.

To get started, my video trip began with a jaunt out to eastern Washington to Portco’s multiwall bag plant in Toppenish. Truly a beautiful drive through continually-changing landscapes, this plant serves as a critical employer for the area and its quality selection of local workers shows. Folks on the floor at the Toppenish plant appeared proud of their positions and displayed great attention to detail. The end result products from this plant reflect all of this and include high-end consumer brand packaging for the likes of C&H Sugar, Lundberg Farms, Idaho Potatoes and many more.

After finishing at Toppenish, we shot drone footage of the company headquarters in Woodland, Wa. Not only were we able to capture the quality that even extends to the roof of the main facility there, what was also noticed was (once again) how important this location is as a local employer. And while only a few short clips of drone footage made it into the final cut, check out some of the drone single picture outtakes below…I’m sure you’ll be able to see why Portco is a big player in what is called the “Horseshoe Lake Commercial Zone.” Watch soon for a “Portco Drone Video,” which will feature much of this great drone footage that didn’t find its way into the main video below.

Finally, I shot copious video inside the headquarters facility in Woodland, Wa. to capture not only what they do here, but also to show exactly why this location has a hard-earned, SQF Level 3 certification. Short of some forklift tire marks on the floor (impossible to avoid), this place looks like it could be a NASA rocket assembly plant. Super clean, very organized, extremely well-run. When it comes to top-end flexible, packaging, these folks do more than just delver product…they deliver confidence; confidence that only an SQF Level 3 supplier can. Enjoy the next picture and main video below to see just what I mean:
