Portco's 3-Year, Dual-plant Expansion: Chapter 3 - Pouching
In our continued coverage of Portco Packaging’s 3-year, dual-plant expansion, this third of four chapters focuses on Portco's robust pouching capabilities.Portco’s pouch department includes equipment acquisitions from both Totani and Modern Manufacturing.Its Totani additions were manufactured in Kyoto, Japan and the first Totani CT-60 pouch line was installed in 2012 and the second in 2016, providing a full range of standup and flat pouch styles in a wide range of size configurations. These are high-speed machines that produce exceptional looking, high-strength seals. Key manufacturing features include multiple pouch formats including 2 side-seal, 3 side-seal and standup, Servo-driven draw for precise forming and cutting, and multiple finishing options including but not limited to zippers, hang holes, tear notch, and valves.The second line installed is from Modern Manufacturing out of Farmington, New York. This line was installed in 2015 to augment Portco’s pouch style offering to include quad seal options. Some of the key features of the Modern Machine include multiple pouch formats including 2 side-seal, 3-side seal, standup, quad-seal and lap-seal, servo-driven draw for precise forming and cutting, and multiple finishing options including zippers, hang holes, tear notch, valves.The new equipment will give Portco more capacity, increased efficiencies, better lead times and (help) improve its overall competitiveness in the marketplace.Please enjoy the following video that showcases both of Portco's pouching machine types: Video Courtesy: Portco.comHeader Image Courtesy: Portco.com
